Start with one line
Place a familiar chain against the neckline you wear most often. Notice where it comes to rest when you move, rather than judging the arrangement only while standing still.
Compare the interval
When adding a second chain, pay attention to the space between the two. A clear interval lets each line remain legible and may be more useful than trying to fill every part of the neckline.
Name the measurement
A pendant drop and the length of its chain are separate details. Read both measurements before comparing one necklace with another, and allow for the shape of the pendant itself.
Keep the clasp in mind
A fine necklace should be easy to understand from both sides. Consider how the clasp works, whether the chain adjusts and how you would put the piece away at the end of the day.
Give each piece a place
Store chains separately so that the arrangement begins calmly the next time you return to them. A soft individual pouch or a separate compartment helps keep fine pieces from tangling together.
From the Avelis notebook
A useful jewellery story connects a visual idea with the practical details of wearing and keeping a piece. Return to the individual product page for its selected finish, stone and size, and use the care and sizing guides as companions to that description. All examples belong to this fictional collection; no real purchase, certification or appraisal is provided.
